Chapters (6)
Start the demo
From Questionnaires, click Generate demo next to your saved questionnaire. Experly creates a realistic sample client in your field, answers your questionnaire as that person, and builds a full program for them from your framework.
Give it 20 to 60 minutes
A demo usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, and up to an hour with a large library or a detailed questionnaire. You do not need to stay on the page. Come back and it will be ready.
Write your program title and description
At the top of the preview is your public offer: the title and short description buyers see before they sign up. Write your own, or click Suggest from my content to get three options based on your material, your questionnaire and the demo.
Pick one, edit it however you like and click Save.
Meet the sample client and review the outline
The header shows who the program was built for. In the video it is Sarah, a founder with a specific problem, and a program title written for her.
Every program opens with a welcome and introduction, then the sections from your plan. Each lesson shows an estimated time, and each section gets its own image. Images are saved to your Content Library so you can reuse them.
Lessons, media and tasks
Open a lesson to read it the way a client will. Lessons draw on your framework and bring in your own media where it fits, such as a YouTube video you added, alongside the written teaching and key takeaways.
Every client program is reviewed by you before the client receives it, and you can edit any lesson.
Choose the exercises clients do
Click Client responses in the bar above the program to choose what appears at the end of each lesson:
- Your task: a practical exercise the client completes and submits.
- Checkpoints: quick multiple choice questions that reinforce the lesson.
- Reflection: open prompts for deeper thinking.
- Knowledge check: a short self test before moving on.
- Checklists: step by step action lists.
- Why this matters: a short box that ties the idea to real life.
- Coach notes: lets clients send you a note or question from the lesson. Turn it off if you do not offer that kind of support.
What clients see at the end of a lesson
Here is how tasks, checkpoints, reflection and coach notes look in a finished lesson.
Change colors, layout and font
The same bar has three more controls. Changes show in the preview straight away.
- Color scheme: your brand colors or a preset such as Editorial, Clinical, Warmth, Archive or Signal.
- Templates: switch between Classic, Action Deck, Executive Split-Screen and Journey Map.
- Font: choose from options including Experly Default, Modern Sans, Friendly Sans and Classic Serif.
Try another layout
Action Deck puts progress along the top and media first. It suits fitness, wellness and anything built around quick actions. Next up: pricing and sharing.

So when you click generate demo program, it will immediately start creating a program for you. You can see it working right now. This takes much longer than the framework does. It usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, but it could take up to 60 minutes, depending on how much content you have and how detailed your questionnaire is. So what it's doing now is it's taking the questionnaire that you created and it's creating a fake client, a client that would come to you within your industry with a specific problem. It's then answering the questionnaire as though it's that client and then it's creating a program for that specific client. So when it's done, it will show you who that client is. It will give it a name, give that person a name, tell what their needs are and then it will show you the program that it created for them. This gives you the opportunity to see what the program looks like that your clients will see before they see it. This is not the specific program that each client will receive because each client is going to have their own program based on their own questionnaire. But it gives you a generalized idea of how your content will be organized into a program state. So this is going to take a while. So, again, you can walk away from the computer and come back. But when it's done, you'll get a really good idea of what you can do with your content with Experly.
1:13Program title and description
OK, here we go. So this program took about 55 minutes to create, which is on the long side. Sometimes it'll be as short as 25 to 30 minutes. It all depends on the content included. Immediately, you get this box at the top saying what your public program offers going to be. So this is the content that's going to go out to your subscriber, your client, what people on the outside are going to see when you're trying to sell your product. You can put in your own title and description here, but it can create one for you based on your program content. And this is done automatically. So if you click suggest from my content, it will immediately create a title and description based on the type of content you uploaded, combined with the questionnaire, combined with the program that it created. You're wanting to create a general title and description for your program because every client is going to be different. So you can go in and edit this and change it however you want and then hit save. But I'm just going to leave what they chose for me. Master Strategic Instinct for Adaptive Leadership. I think that's a great title. Also gives other options so you can go through and choose them and then hit save. OK, so that's going to be your public profile for your program when it goes out.
2:26Meet the sample client
So here is the demo program that it created for us. It created a person named Sarah and then created a description of Sarah. So it created a program title for her specifically, Strategic Instinct and Personal Evolution. And this is the overall progress. This is what they'll see on the front end as they progress through their module. And here's the program. So it always opens with a welcome intro. So if you click the intro, it creates images for you, too. So it's going to create an image for each module. You could also go in and edit these when their program is created. So this is just the demo program. This is not the actual program. It's going to go out to them. But the images that are created for the demo program will be stored in your content library and will be reusable for the user programs. If you want more images, you can create more with the pro version or upload your own images. So it created an introduction. Welcome to Strategic Instinct and Personal Evolution. Talks about the program. And then we have our first stage here, shifting perspective and aligning actions. It created so created modules for each day. So we have 14 modules that are created. As you scroll down, you can see these modules. And then within each module, it's got three units. And then it gives it gives an estimate of how much time each unit will take.
3:46Lessons, media and tasks
So, for example, we'll just start with the first one, shifting perspectives and aligning actions. And you click the first section, identify your industry's Mona Lisa moment. In my book, I talk about a Mona Lisa moment and it creates an image for this. It looks like it's using my YouTube video for this section. It actually took this video and combined it with my content in my book to create a section about finding your Mona Lisa moment in the industry, what it is and why it matters. Has a few paragraphs and sections based on shifting your perspective, seeing the bigger picture, aligning your actions. And then has a key takeaways. And then you can go down and here's your task. So it creates tasks for each user. Ask questions for them to answer. We can't do that here in this because we're the expert just reviewing content. The client themselves can go in and fill this out. They've got checkpoints where they can answer where they how they feel after each section. They can also fill in their reflection as well. There's also a section here where they can ask questions to the coach if the coach has accepted that.
4:51Choose client exercises
So if we go up to the very top here under client responses, you as an expert can go in and choose what type of exercises you want the client to participate within this. So right now we have your task, checkpoints, reflection and coaches notes checked. We can also have the checklist, why this matters and knowledge check. And then it will add that content to the bottom. We'll see the page refresh in a second and it will add those sections to the bottom of the content for each module. OK, so we have the knowledge check now. Now, if you don't want your client to interact with you through Coaches Notes, you can go back up here and turn off Coaches Notes. And that way, the client won't be interacting with you with the Coaches Notes. It's all dependent on who you are as a teacher, how many clients you have, how much time you have, that kind of thing. So it's just going to refresh here. And now if we go back down, we're going to see Coaches Notes have been removed.
5:46Colors, layouts and fonts
This section here, the client response is the editorial, the templates. The font is going to set the look and feel and content of the program that goes out to the client. Although they're not getting the specific program, they will get that alignment and layout. And then the program content will be different, specific to that client. As Experly expands and grows, we're going to give you more options of tasks that the client can perform. But we're just getting started here, trying to get feedback from you guys to see what works for you, what doesn't work for you, what works for your clients. And down the row, we're going to give the client options and learning the way they learn. So allowing them to choose how they want to learn from your content. That's the next version of Experly and should be coming out in the next couple of months. So that's the basics of it. There's a conclusion at the end, which will go over everything with the client that they learned in the process. Now, everything is open here for you to look at in the demo program. But we'll show you later that on the client side, it's going to have a lock on each of these sections if you've chosen to release on a daily basis. When each segment is completed or the next day comes in, then that new section gets unlocked. So in a nutshell, this is what the programs look like for your users. You can go in and click editorial and change the color scheme. And that's just going to change the colors surrounding it there. We've got a different color surrounding it. And that can match what your colors are on your site. And then we can also go in and change the template. I'll let you guys play with this on your own. You've got an action deck, which is a much different look. It's the same content. It's just delivered in a different way. OK, so it just takes a second to load up. And when it loads up, you're going to see it's a full screen of the content and then you continue to read the directions and then the content is shown like this. And then you can continue to go to the practice and it shows the content of the actual exercises that you would do. So it's just a different layout with a menu on the side to go through each of the different sections. And then, of course, font, you can go through and change the font that's used on your programs as well to match what you would use on your site. Down the row, we're going to add templates so that you can insert the programs into your website themselves. So you don't have to direct them straight to Expley, but we're not at that stage yet. Again, we're always looking for feedback from our users to improve their programs, to improve the experience and all those aspects. So there you go. That's a program template. This is what you're going to see when you generate your demo program. The next step we're going to move on to is pricing and sharing your programs with your clients.
Questions about this step
A complete program built for an invented sample client in your field, using your questionnaire and framework. It shows you exactly what buyers receive, and it is where you write your offer title and description and choose client exercises, colors, layout and font. No real client data is used.
Usually 20 to 30 minutes, and up to an hour for a large library or a detailed questionnaire. You do not need to keep the page open.
Yes. When a client completes your questionnaire and pays, their program is built and you get an email. Open it under Programs, edit anything you want, and approve it. The client receives it after you approve.
Only if you want them to. Turn on Coach notes under Client responses and clients can send you a note or question from inside a lesson. Leave it off if you do not offer that kind of support.
